The article discuses the decision made in a four-year long lawsuit about ride-booking apps, and if drivers are considered independent contractors or Massachusetts state employees. The catch? The questions remains unanswered.

The Attorney General’s Office is essentially blessing some type of new, third-tier work relationship, just for these two drivers, just for these two companies. It’s unusual, and a lot remains to be seen about how the state will handle other gig economy companies.
