Gary Feldman practiced as an employment lawyer and business litigator at Davis Malm for 30 years before retiring in 2023. He advised companies, employers and employees on all aspects of employment-related issues, and regularly litigated before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination, federal and state trial courts, appellate courts and arbitration panels.

In retirement, Gary enjoys attending concerts, traveling and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Michael Malm co-founded the firm in 1979 with Hal Davis and Julian D’Agostine. Before retiring in 2022, Michael focused his practice on business and real estate matters ranging from business counseling and succession planning to transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions, financing and leasing. More than an incredible attorney and leader, Michael is also the architect of our firm’s culture. He loved the work he did and the people with whom he worked. His passion, heart and soul will remain at the core of our firm, and we will continue to build on the foundation he laid.

We look forward to Michael visiting us in the office, from time to time. We wish him sunny skies and smooth seas as he enjoys his days in retirement sailing on his boat with his wife, Cynthia, and their dog, Moxie, spending time with his family, and honing his woodworking hobby.

Bill Griffin practiced at the firm for 40 years as a business, real estate, bond and tax attorney. Before retiring in 2022, he represented private and public businesses in over 700 sophisticated business transactions, and briefed and argued numerous appellate cases. Bill authored a 1,600 page treatise, A Practical Guide to Massachusetts Closely-Held Business Organizations, published by Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education. Bill’s thriving bond practice earned him a listing in The Bond Buyer’s Municipal Marketplace (the “Red Book”), and he acted as bond counsel in nearly 400 tax-exempt bond deals. Bill authored numerous articles and often chaired or served as a panelist at continuing legal education seminars.

In retirement, Bill will continue to serve as a trustee of the Boston Latin School Association. He’ll also spend time in Waterville Valley, NH, where he’ll contribute to the family business (Jugtown Country Store), brave the freezing waters of Corcoran Pond by participating in the annual “Turkey Plunge,” and ski the slopes.

Prior to retiring from Davis Malm in 2020, John was a corporate lawyer, primarily focusing on advising business organizations as general outside corporate counsel. John practiced at the firm for 38 years, during which time he served on Davis Malm’s Executive Committee for 15 years.

In retirement, John continues to be actively involved in the community. He sits on the Boards of the Massachusetts Bar Foundation and the Massachusetts Fallen Firefighters Memorial Fund, Inc. and is a former president of The Hundred Club of Massachusetts.
