Davis Malm shareholder Rob Munnelly has been elected to the Northeast Energy and Commerce Association, Inc. (NECA) 2016 Board of Directors. As a NECA director, Rob will help advance the association’s mission through new member outreach and by educating the Board and its 1,100 person membership on commercial and regulatory developments in the competitive retail electric and gas markets across New England. Rob has been actively involved in NECA since 2001 and will continue to serve as Co-Chair of the NECA’s Retail Markets Committee, a position he has held since 2014.

Rob brings to NECA his extensive experience with legal, regulatory, and local taxation issues faced by energy, cable television, telecommunications companies in New England and nationally, as well as other regulated industries. He served as Assistant Attorney General in the Administrative Law Division of the Government Bureau of the Massachusetts Office of Attorney General where he represented state agencies in trial court actions and appeals. Rob was also Director of Legal and Regulatory Affairs for the New England Cable and Telecommunications Association where he served as strategist and counsel in all six New England states. He currently serves as Co-Chair of the New England Chapter of the Federal Communications Bar Association.

Rob is a frequent panelist at Federal Communications Bar Association seminars, Massachusetts Bar Association seminars on administrative agency proceedings, cable televison conferences, and other energy, communications, and information security events. He is also a co-author of the new 2015 Lexis-Nexis treatise on Massachusetts Administrative Law and Practice. Prior to joining Davis Malm, he was a partner at Murtha Cullina LLP in Boston.

Serving the electric power industry, its mission is to promote a reliable, environmentally responsible and cost-effective regional power supply, including innovative demand-side initiatives and renewable energy.
