On October 22, Davis Malm shareholder Rich Sampson competed in Boston’s 58th annual Head Of The Charles® Regatta (HOCR). Representing the HOCR host organization, Cambridge Boat Club, Rich’s team placed first in the Men’s Grand Master Fours (60+) category for the second consecutive year with a time of 18:06.347. This earned his team its 8th gold medal in the regatta.

Rich has a long history competing at the HOCR and has held several positions with the race organization since 1999, ranging from a member of the Board of Directors to managing director. Today, he serves as the HOCR’s Corporate Counsel.

The HOCR was founded in 1965 and is the world’s largest rowing race, regularly fielding more than 11,000 athletes from around the world to compete in a full line-up of sculling and sweep rowing events. A must-attend race for world class and Olympian rowers, competitors range from young adult rowers to veteran athletes in their 90s. The HOCR is hosted by the Cambridge Boat Club, which was established in 1909 to encourage boating and yachting in Boston.
