On October 23, 2021, shareholder Rich Sampson participated in the 57th annual Head Of The Charles© Regatta (HOCR) in Boston. Rich’s team, representing the Cambridge Boat Club, the host organization of the HOCR, placed first in the Men’s Grand Master Fours (60+) category. The team won with a time of 18:08.033. This year’s event marks the return of the in-person annual race after a virtual competition took place in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Rich has a long history competing at the HOCR and has volunteered with the race organization since 1999 in capacities ranging from race operations co-chair to a member of the Board of Directors and as a managing director. He currently serves as the HOCR’s Corporate Counsel.

The HOCR was founded in 1965 and is the world’s largest rowing race, regularly fielding more than 11,000 athletes from around the world to compete in a full line-up of sculling and sweep rowing events. A must-attend race for world class and Olympian rowers, competitors range from young adult rowers to veteran athletes in their 90s. The HOCR is hosted by the Cambridge Boat Club, which was established in 1909 to encourage boating and yachting in Boston.
