Tamsin Kaplan was the guest speaker at the Association of Workplace Investigators’ 2024 New England Local Circle Meeting. Tamsin discussed her 2021 high-profile investigation into former Boston Police Commissioner Dennis White and allegations of abuse within the Boston Police Department. At the meeting, Tamsin shared her experiences during and after this high-profile investigation, as well as insights and advice for investigators. The Boston Globe called Tamsin’s investigative report “a thorough and unsparing assessment of alleged menacing abuse by the commissioner” and the “culture of fear and silence” within the Police Department.

Tamsin is an employment lawyer, workplace investigator and business litigator, and serves as outside general counsel to diverse nonprofits. She has extensive experience representing businesses, executives and other high-level professionals in a full range of employment-related issues from recruitment through termination. Tamsin frequently conducts workplace investigations, provides training on diversity and harassment, and advises employers regarding employee handbooks, employment audits, and workplace policies and practices. She regularly litigates cases involving employment and business disputes before federal and state courts and agencies.
