Dave Powsner moderated the panel, “Ethically Informed Licensing for Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Self-Driving Cars and Other Consumer Products,” at the Licensing Executives Society USA & Canada (LES) Annual Meeting.

Dave led a discussion about how AI-based products are beginning to hit the market and explored whether technology and data licensing agreements could provide a viable mechanism for regulating AI in consumer products. He was joined by panelists Eric Gottschling, Global Director-Licensing Commercialization, BorgWarner Inc.; Ian Ho, Associate Professor, Tulane University A. B. Freeman School of Business; Rob Lalka, Albert R. Lepage Professor in Business, Tulane University; and Nicholas Mattei, Associate Professor of Computer Science, Tulane University, School of Science & Engineering.

Dave is actively involved with the LES and has served in nearly 10 positions with the group going back to 2017. His involvement includes everything from its high-tech committee to co-chairing its 2020 annual meeting. Heading into 2025, Dave will reprise that latter role, this time serving as the co-chair for the annual meeting taking place in Boston.

“I am always excited to be involved in different ventures with the LES, and I am especially excited for the 2025 Annual Meeting as we continue to finalize details for the event,” said Dave. “The theme is Strategic Partnerships for IP Development and Market Growth, and I am looking forward to seeing colleagues across the industry benefit and take away leading points from the meeting.”
