Davis Malm is pleased to announce that Phil Olsen has joined the firm as a shareholder. Phil is a tax attorney who focuses on state and local tax consulting and litigation. He brings over 25 years of experience to resolving and litigating major tax controversies.  Phil’s experience spans nearly every area of state and local tax, including corporate and personal income, sales and use, estate, real and personal property taxes, and unclaimed property matters. In addition to advocating for taxpayers on state level taxes, he represents property owners and municipalities in local property tax appeals.

Before entering private practice, Phil served as a senior trial attorney and litigation supervisor for the Massachusetts Department of Revenue (DOR) where he represented the Department in landmark tax cases. This experience gives him an insider perspective of the DOR’s views and approaches to handling matters.

Davis Malm President Amy Fracassini commented, “Phil is an impressive tax attorney with a track record of advising and delivering successful results to clients. His background and experience representing a range of clients from mid-sized to Fortune 500 companies will strengthen our corporate and litigation capabilities. We welcome him to the Davis Malm team.”

Phil said, “Davis Malm has an exceptional, sophisticated business practice with an experienced and savvy tax team. I look forward to working with my new colleagues and helping the firm’s clients resolve tax issues in and out of court.”
