Davis Malm attorney Dave Rogers, who also serves as a State Representative for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, 24th Middlesex District, was appointed Vice Chair of the Massachusetts Joint Committee on Marijuana Policy by Massachusetts House Speaker, Robert A. DeLeo.

When Massachusetts voters acted to pass marijuana legalization in November 2016, the Joint Committee on Marijuana Policy was formed to review the legislation as passed by the voters and help usher in the ever evolving cannabis climate. The committee is tasked with transforming a piece of legislature into a functional and regulated marijuana market in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Dave was elected to the Massachusetts House of Representatives for the 24th Middlesex District (covering Arlington, Belmont, and Cambridge) in 2012. In addition to the Massachusetts Joint Committee on Marijuana Policy, he serves on the Joint and House Committees on Ways and Means, the Joint Committee on Export Development, and the House Committee on Redistricting. Dave is also a member of the Steering Committee of the Progressive Caucus in the House, where he plays an active role in both shaping public policy and formulating legislative strategy to help advance those policy goals. He is also a member of the MBTA Caucus and the Manufacturing Caucus.

At Davis Malm, Dave is Of Counsel, practicing in the Business Law, Employment, and Real Estate and Environmental areas. He has almost two decades of experience counseling public and private businesses of all sizes on a wide range of matters, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, debt and equity financings, securities filings, and commercial real estate leasing. Dave’s experience serving as in-house counsel at a global manufacturing firm and in the high-tech sector for biotechnology and clean energy software companies provides him with a unique perspective and understanding of the complex challenges faced by in-house lawyers.
