On October 22, shareholder David J. Powsner hosted a half-day program entitled “Innovation and Commercialization in 2026 and Beyond,” at the Licensing Executives Society USA & Canada (LES) Annual Meeting.  As part of that program, Dave moderated a panel entitled “Separating Myth from Reality: What is the Reality of the Federal Funding Cuts and How can You Improve Your Company’s/Client’s Success in Obtaining and Retaining Funding?”

Dave organized and hosted the half-day program to cap off two and a half days of keynote presentations, panel discussions and roundtables at this year’s LES annual meeting, held October 20–22, at the Boston Copley Marriott. The half-day program, which included four one-hour panels, was directed to new federal policy initiatives for funding technology and the impact of those initiatives over near- and long-term.

Dave moderated a panel discussion as part of the half-day program and was joined by panelists Kim Holloway, Associate Vice Chancellor for Research & Innovation Acceleration, University of Massachusetts; Kate Hudson, Deputy Vice President & Counsel, Association of American Universities; Chris Locher, Chief Executive Officer, Versatope Therapeutics; and Bryan Shuy, Senior Vice President, The Conafay Group.

Dave has been actively involved with LES, where he has served in many volunteer roles, including, Senior Vice President of Meetings, Chair, Co-Chair, Vice Chair and Secretary of the High-Tech Sector, and Co-Chair of the 2020 and 2025 annual meetings.
