Davis Malm Director of Marketing and Business Development Joanne Thorud co-presented the workshop, “Beyond Bandwidth: Creative Tools and Tactics for Solo Marketers and Small Teams,” at the Association for Accounting Marketing (AAM) Summit on May 20. The annual summit brings together marketing and business development professionals from accounting firms nationwide for education, idea exchange, and networking.

During the session, Joanne and co-presenter Jaclyn Braga, Director of Marketing and Business Development at Morse, led participants through a series of concise teaching segments, interactive group exercises, and peer-to-peer brainstorming. Attendees applied practical frameworks to evaluate current initiatives, identify efficiencies, and develop influence strategies aligned with their firm goals and cultures.

Joanne joined Davis Malm in 2003 and has served as its Marketing and Business Development Director since 2011. She develops and executes strategies, works with practice groups and individual attorneys to find creative ways to drive business, manages the firm’s communications strategy, organizes firm events, and manages the marketing team and budget, among other responsibilities. A longtime member of the Legal Marketing Association (LMA), Ms. Thorud has held numerous leadership positions, including serving as the first Chair of the Northeast Region Boston Local Steering Committee in 2017. Prior to that, she was on the LMA New England Chapter Board of Directors for several years, and she co-chaired the 2015 LMA Northeast Conference. She also co-chaired the Small Firm/Solo Marketer SIG for ten years.
