Rich has been a member of the Board of Directors and a managing director, and he currently serves as co-chair of the HOCR’s Course Committee, which is responsible for installing and removing the course for the three-day race.

“A core group of us have been doing this for decades and the fall campaign is something we look forward to reprising every year,” stated Rich. “It’s inspiring to see people of all ages and abilities, from all over the world, come together and find common ground around this sport.”

The HOCR was founded in 1965 and is the world’s largest rowing race, regularly fielding more than 11,000 athletes from around the world to compete in a full line-up of sculling and sweep rowing events. A must-attend race for world-class and Olympian rowers, competitors range from young adult rowers to veteran athletes in their 90s. The HOCR is hosted by the Cambridge Boat Club, which was established in 1909 to encourage boating and yachting in Boston.
