Davis Malm Participates in 25th Annual Walk to the Hill for Civil Legal Aid in Massachusetts

On Thursday, January 25th, Davis Malm joined hundreds of lawyers and advocates for the Equal Justice Coalition’s 25^th annual, “Walk to the Hill for Civil Legal Aid.” The Davis Malm contingent was led by associate Courtney Simmons. The firm has participated in the event every year since 2004, including virtually at the Talk to the Hill events from 2021-2023.

“After three years of virtual turnouts for Talk to the Hill, we were thrilled to resume the in-person Walk to the Hill event this year,” said Courtney. “I’m proud to lead the Davis Malm team as we advocate for civil legal aid organizations across the Commonwealth alongside like-minded attorneys.”

The annual Walk to the Hill, one of the largest lobbying events on Beacon Hill, draws hundreds of lawyers to the State House to request their legislators’ support for civil legal aid funding. This year, the Equal Justice Coalition’s legislative funding campaign called on state lawmakers to provide $55 million in funding for civil legal aid in the Commonwealth’s Fiscal Year 2025 budget.

Walk to the Hill is sponsored by the Equal Justice Coalition, a collaboration of the Massachusetts Bar Association, Boston Bar Association and the Massachusetts Legal Assistance Corporation. The event is co-sponsored by numerous county and specialty bar associations throughout Massachusetts.
