On October 29, Allison Ahern Fillo presented on the Boston Bar Association’s (BBA) Keeping Families Together webinar, “How to File the Form I-131F for Parole in Place and Latest Updates on the Administrative Stay.”

The webinar covered best practices for filing Form I-131F (Application for Parole in Place for Noncitizen Spouses and Stepchildren of U.S. Citizens) on my.uscis.gov. Allison was joined by fellow presenter Carmen Bello, Immigration Law Office of Carmen Bello, PC and panel moderator Sarah Allar, Staff Attorney of Political Asylum/Immigration Representation (PAIR) Project. They discussed how to navigate the website, address applicants’ criminal histories, manage removal proceedings, and outline the next steps after filing. Additionally, they provided the latest information on the administrative stay from Texas v. Department of Homeland Security.

Allison is an immigration attorney who assists U.S. businesses and non-citizens with obtaining immigration and naturalization benefits. She represents established and emerging corporate clients on immigration issues related to employment authorization, company policy drafting, employee training, and general regulatory enforcement and compliance. Allison advises on immigration due diligence and risk management in connection with corporate mergers, acquisitions, restructuring and startups. She also assists clients with employment-based and family-based immigrant visa petitions, applications for U.S. lawful permanent residence and nonimmigrant visa petitions. Allison serves as Co-Chair of the BBA’s Immigration Section for the 2024-2025 term.
