Allison Ahern Fillo has been elected Co-Chair of the Boston Bar Association’s (BBA) Immigration Section for the 2024-2025 term.

The mission of the BBA’s Immigration Law Section is to serve enthusiastic, committed lawyers working in a wide range of legal environments and looking to expand their expertise on the complex, evolving issues confronting a successful immigration practice.

“The BBA’s Immigration Section gives lawyers the opportunity to expand their knowledge on the evolving issues in our practice,” said Allison. “I’m looking forward to continuing my work with the BBA while getting to lead and mentor others in this new position.”

As Section Co-Chair, Allison will help plan engaging and relevant programs for members on topics relating to employer representation and compliance in connection with U.S. business visas and work permits, including Labor Certification (PERM), nonimmigrant visa petitions (H-1B, L, TN, etc.), and employment-based Lawful Permanent Residence.

Allison is an immigration attorney who assists U.S. businesses and non-citizens with obtaining immigration and naturalization benefits. She represents established and emerging corporate clients on immigration issues related to employment authorization, company policy drafting, employee training, and general regulatory enforcement and compliance. Allison advises on immigration due diligence and risk management in connection with corporate mergers, acquisitions, restructuring and startups. She also assists clients with employment-based and family-based immigrant visa petitions, applications for U.S. lawful permanent residence and nonimmigrant visa petitions.
