On May 6, Allison Ahern Fillo presented on the Boston Bar Association’s (BBA) webinar, “How Immigration Changes Could Affect Your Clients (Even If You’re Not an Immigration Lawyer).” During the program, Allison and her fellow panelists presented an overview of the recent changes in immigration law, covering new policies on topics ranging from asylum to courthouse arrests and new barriers to entry at airports. The program discussed how these changes may have wider effects on businesses and their employees.

Allison has served on multiple panels for the BBA over the last four years since beginning her tenure on the Immigration Section Committee in 2021. She now serves as Co-Chair of the Immigration Section, and has the opportunity to collaborate with and mentor other talented attorneys.

“During this time of rapidly changing immigration policies and priorities, I am particularly grateful to lean on the BBA. This panel is designed to help attorneys better counsel their clients and provide access to immigration-related resources, information and insights,” said Allison. “Boston is home to a community of talented attorneys, deeply committed to their practices and clients. It’s a privilege to be involved with the BBA and help guide others during this time.”

The BBA is a leading legal institution in Massachusetts, with a mission to advance the highest standards of excellence for the legal profession, facilitate access to justice, foster a diverse and inclusive professional community and serve the community at large.
