On October 1, 2011, Davis Malm attorneys Sam Mawn-Mahlau and Andrew Myers served as moderators at the Fifth Annual “ForSE 2011: Forum for Social Entrepreneurs” organized by TiE Boston and sponsored by Davis Malm & D’Agostine, P.C. The panel titled “Socially Responsible Investing” was chaired by Sam and focused on investment funds and investors that back social entrepreneurs. The panel titled “Technologies With Social Impact in Urban Spaces” was chaired by Andrew and discussed various technologies used in urban businesses, such as vegetated roofing, a new form of car sharing, and a mobile application that allows developers to create 3D models of urban settings. The one-day annual conference brought together social innovators with leading business professionals, investors, donors, government officials, academics, and students to facilitate the sharing of new technology and business ideas, along with hard-earned management knowledge, to foster informed discussion and action on new social venture concepts. The event is New England’s largest conference focused on bringing together leading entrepreneurs, investors, and thought-leaders dedicated to social impact.
