He has extensive experience in complex commercial litigation including securities, antitrust, RICO, ERISA, bankruptcy, employment, contract, consumer fraud, and class action litigation. Chris has represented clients before the state courts of Massachusetts, New York, Delaware, Texas, and California.

Representative Matters


  • Resolved insured’s claims against insurance company for property damage caused by hurricanes after the insurance company denied the claim.
  • Won summary judgment in favor of national developer awarding it the right to develop and sell units in a development project despite the fact that the developer defaulted on its payment obligations and the seller had foreclosed on its mortgage on the property.
  • Efficiently defended challenge to employer’s non-compete and non-solicit agreement.
  • Successfully represented acquirer in an asset sale against the seller for breach of the representations and warranties about the condition of the assets.
  • Defended claims against demolition contractor based on the contractor’s failure to perform certain aspects of the work after the discovery of asbestos and environmental contaminants at the facility.

  • Billing v. Credit Suisse First Boston Ltd., 426 F.3d 130 (2d Cir. 2005) - Represented investors before the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in which the Court reinstated a lawsuit alleging that Wall Street's largest investment banks and institutional investors violated federal antitrust laws in connection with the hot issue IPOs of the late 1990s.
  • In re Salomon Analyst Level 3 Litigation, 350 F.Supp.2d 477 (S.D.N.Y. 2004). - Successfully defeated motion to dismiss regarding allegations that Salomon Smith Barney violated securities laws when it issued knowingly false and misleading analyst reports on Level 3 securities to generate investment banking business.
