Real Estate, Land Use, and Environmental Litigation
Since our founding in 1979,
Davis Malm has been a recognized leader in real estate law, having achieved
successful results for developers, landowners, contractors, lessors,
lessees, and municipal authorities. We represent clients before municipal,
state, and federal agencies regulating land use and at all levels of
the court systems. Our attorneys regularly lecture and write on these
subjects and are actively involved in advising both the state legislature
and regulatory agencies on land use statutes and regulatory matters.
One of our litigators is a past chair of the Boston Bar Association's
Zoning and Land Use Committee and was a member of the Chapter 40R Advisory
Committee that helped shape regulations to encourage communities to
zone for greater housing production in locations with existing infrastructure.
Several members of our team previously served on the City of Boston's
legal staff, focusing on real estate and land-use matters. Others have
served as counsel to several Massachusetts municipalities. Our attorneys
include the long-term co chair of the Boston Bar Association's Real
Estate Pro Bono Section, where he has had a major role in establishing
the Lawyer for the Day Program at the Boston Housing Court. In 2006,
the Supreme Judicial Court honored him with the Adams Pro Bono Publico
Award for his work. Our real estate, land use, and environmental law
litigators have won a number of landmark real estate cases in the state
and federal courts.
