Laurie Alexander-Krom practices in the Employment Law Group and the Litigation Group. Laurie advises employers, employees, and business executives in all aspects of employment-related issues and policies. She represents employers at the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination, the Equal Opportunity Commission, and state and federal courts. Laurie also has extensive experience representing multistate clients from various areas including the automotive, hospitality, manufacturing, retail, telecommunications, construction, and real estate industries.

Laurie counsels clients on hiring, employee discipline and terminations, sexual harassment investigations, discrimination issues, wage and hour issues, compliance with state and federal laws, and other employment related practices. She provides advice to employers concerning employment contracts, employee handbooks and other employee related policies. Laurie regularly provides training for employers with regard to sexual harassment, discipline and discharge, hiring, and discrimination prevention techniques. Prior to joining Davis Malm, Laurie was an associate in the Labor and Employment Group at Murtha Cullina LLP.

• Successfully defended Fortune 100 Company in various age, race, gender and handicap discrimination claims brought before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination, and in state and federal courts.

• Defended a large restaurant chain against a sexual harassment claim brought by a former employee.
• Successfully defended a Fortune 100 Company in a racial discrimination and racial harassment claim brought by a former employee in Massachusetts state superior court.
• Successfully defended a large telecommunications company against a gender discrimination claim brought in federal district court.
• Represented numerous employers in wage and hour investigations by the U.S. Department of Labor and by the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office.
