On April 12, 2018, Davis Malm shareholder Lawrence J. Casey
will present the seminar, “What Every Small and Medium-Sized Business Should Know About the Massachusetts Equal Pay Act.” The program, hosted by Davis Malm, aims to educate employers on an Act taking effect on July 1, 2018 that will prohibit wage discrimination based on gender.
Mr. Casey will be joined by Rick Williams, Managing Director of Williams Advisory Partners, LLC and Aaron Lavespere, a business consultant at Brown & Brown Insurance. The program will provide an overview of the Act from management, insurance, and legal perspectives, and will discuss how businesses can evaluate, manage, and protect against the risk of potential claims arising under the new law.
Mr. Casey practices in the Business Law, Employment, and Litigation areas at Davis Malm. He has more than 30 years of experience successfully litigating complex employment-related matters on behalf of executives, professionals, and employers in trials in state and federal courts, arbitrations, and agency hearings. Mr. Casey has also argued appeals before the First Circuit Court of Appeals, Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court, and Massachusetts Appeals Court.
