On June 21, Davis Malm shareholder Sandy Moskowitz was reelected as a Vice President of the Greater Boston Legal Services (GBLS) Board of Directors and to its Executive Committee. In these roles, Sandy will continue his work to advance GBLS’ mission to provide high-quality legal representation to low-income individuals and families in the Greater Boston area.

A longtime GBLS supporter and active Board Member, Sandy said, “I am honored to be reelected to the leadership team of an organization with such a strong history of supporting the disenfranchised. In these challenging times, it is more critical than ever to protect and enforce the basic legal rights of our most vulnerable citizens.”

For over 35 years, Sandy has been a dedicated supporter of civil legal aid. He began his career as an attorney for Birmingham Area Legal Services in Alabama. From 2010 to 2013, Sandy served as Chair of the Massachusetts Equal Justice Coalition and led the organized bar’s efforts to increase state funding for legal aid programs, which continue to face increased demand. For over ten years, he also led a Boston Bar Association committee that created and operated the Lawyer for a Day Program at the Boston Housing Court. In 2006, Sandy was awarded the Adams Pro Bono Publico Award by the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court for his work on this program, which has been a model both in assisting low income litigants and in relieving the great burden pro se litigants place on the court.
