On March 28, Davis Malm sponsored the Boston Modern Orchestra Project’s Boston ConNECtion at Jordan Hall. This orchestral series showcased resident Bostonians and traveling friends in a concert that highlighted inventive and fresh orchestral works. The program featured Binna Kim, winner of the annual BMOP/NEC Composition Competition and her Accumulated Traces; Donald Crockett’s Blue Earth; Steven Stucky’s Concerto for Orchestra; and Lei Liang’s U.S. premiere of his Xiaoxiang, Concerto for Saxophone and Orchestra.

Founded in 1996, the Boston Modern Orchestra Project is widely recognized as the leading orchestra in the United States dedicated exclusively to performing new music, and its signature record label, BMOP/sound, is the nation’s foremost label launched by an orchestra and solely devoted to new music recordings. Davis Malm attorney Sam Mawn-Mahlau serves on the orchestra’s board of trustees.
